Energizing Our Community
It is part of PDC’s mission to invest time, effort and charitable dollars in the communities in which we live and work. In 2012 the company began an organized effort for our employees and their families to participate in an annual day of volunteering called “Energizing Our Community” (EOC). Since then, the initiative has grown in both popularity and accomplishment. While PDC realizes that we cannot meet every need of all our communities, we do feel a connection to the organizations and the people we serve and remain committed to making a positive difference. To that end, our EOC program has met with tremendous success and greatly exceeded expectations.
Our reputation as a responsible corporate citizen is important to us. Being good neighbors, stewards of the land and participating in local hands‐on projects are ways in which we feel a strong connection to our employees and our communities. And it is the right thing to do. In 2015 the response for volunteering was an overwhelming 79% of the employees from four different work locations assisting twenty‐five organizations. Because each community has different needs and many of our employees are very passionate about specific qualifying organizations, the EOC event allows employees an opportunity to contribute to the communities and organizations of their choosing. This has only fueled even more the passion our employees feel towards this initiative and its impact.
Additionally, in 2015 employees and their families donated significant amounts of food and other personal items to Operation Gratitude, an initiative to collect goods for distribution to our service men and women serving abroad.
PDC acknowledges and thanks the generosity of our employees and families who have participated as part of this extraordinary day of giving, as well as on‐going efforts throughout each year. We hope that all employees continue to be enthusiastic in their determination to make the world around them a better place because, as our EOC slogan states, “We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give.” - Sir Winston Churchill
PDC Community Involvement
May 2013: PDC Energy pitches in at The American Red Cross to make gift boxes for the US Navy in Afghanistan.
In September 2013, the Front Range of Colorado experienced historic floods which severely impacted many cities and counties. According to the Colorado Oil & Gas Association, over 1,800 homes were destroyed, over 16,000 homes were damaged, and approximately 500 miles of roads and 50 bridges were damaged or destroyed.
To help those impacted, PDC made substantial financial contributions to disaster relief organizations as well as provided some direct support to residents of Weld County who were displaced from their homes. PDC also matched its employees contributions to the relief efforts.
